How can I find out in your site
which are the compatible cartridges for my printer?
You
can either scroll through the manufacturer models, use the search
function, telephone or email us your requirements.
Can you issue an invoice?
Yes, ekons.bg will issue original invoices on request. When using
the website shop you have the option to receive an invoice, simply
enter your details.
Are the cartridges with or without
chip?
99%
of our cartridges are supplied with a chip which enables your
printer to recognise the cartridge and to display, where applicable,
ink levels.
Is there your store in... (Sofia,
Plovdiv, Varna, etc.)?
ekons.bg is an internet shop, we serve all of Bulgaria. Our warehouse
and logistics department is based close to the Port of Varna, to
keep our costs down and our prices low.
What is the ink content?
Ink
content varies from model and manufacturer, 99% of our products
contain more than the original manufacturer ink volumes, in some
cases more than double the levels in our XL versions, see website
for model description for actual volumes.
How long can I keep the cartridges
unsealed?
All
our cartridges come with a 3 year warranty. We advise that once
opened you use the ink within 6 months for the best results.
The chip is showing low ink level
and the cartridge is still 1/3 full?
Ink
level indicators can never be 100% accurate, continue using until it
no longer prints. Our cartridges will continue to function until
completely empty.
What happens if the cartridges are
not working with my printer?
If
you have ordered incorrect models we will exchange unopened
cartridges but you must pay for return and sending of replacements.
If the cartridges do not function and you have followed our
technical advice we will refund/replace as required.
What to do with the empty
cartridges? Can I return them to you?
We
accept used/unused cartridges originally supplied by ekons.bg for
disposal.
What is a printhead cartridge?
Some
manufacturer models have a built-in printhead on the cartridge -
this is the device that puts ink onto the paper, some manufacturers
have the printhead built into the printer, resulting in lower cost
cartridge replacements.
Is the size of the XL cartridges
different from the size of the OEM cartridges?
The
actual size of the cartridge is the same, only the amount of ink
contained is higher, check our cartridge description for actual
volumes.
Are your cartridges new or recycled?
We
supply both new and remanufactured cartridges - all produced to
provide outstanding print quality using only the best parts, ink and
toner.
If the Printer doesn't recognise the
cartridge?
You
can try wiping the copper contact plate on the cartridge over with a
slightly damp piece of kitchen towel. While doing this you can turn
off your pc & printer and leave for a minute or two before
putting back on. When the printer and pc are back on make sure the
copper plates on the cartridges are dry and put them back into the
printer. When installed run the printhead cleaning program 3 to 4
times for best results as this will clean the heads & push the
ink through.
If
you have recently updated the printer driver try uninstalling and
reinstalling a previous version of the driver. Manufacturers of
printers have been known to make firmware changes to your printer
through software updates to exclude the use of compatible
cartridges. The best way to protect your printer is to ignore all
non-critical software internet updates, especially if your printer
functions correctly.
The printer recognises the
cartridge, but it won't print!
Try
running the printhead cleaning program on these cartridges. This
process will clean the heads and also push the ink through and
should hopefully resolve this problem for you. We recommend that you
do this 3 to 4 times for best results.
Can I combine original and
compatible cartridges in the printer?
Yes,
it is no problem to use black or colour cartridge from different
sources in the same machine. If for instance, you prefer to use
original colour cartridges and cheaper black compatible cartridges
this will not cause problems for you printer.

If I
use a non-original cartridge, will it affect printer warranty?
No, it
will not.
In 2006
the EU Commission’s DG COMP, which is the unit responsible for
fair competition across Europe, launched an investigation into the
market behaviour of the printer manufacturers regarding cartridges.
This was done because the Commission have serious reasons to believe
that the printer manufacturers are using unlawful practices to
prevent our industry from remanufacturing used cartridges so that
they can be used again. You are not obliged to buy original cartridges - FACT!
